ROCHESTER - Police are investigating a robbery in which a Rochester man reported that while walking along Route 11 on Tuesday a pickup truck pulled up beside him, pointed a shotgun or rifle at him and demanded money.

The incident occurred a short time before 6:15 p.m., which is when an officer was flagged down by the victim at Ridge Marketplace.

The victim, a 34-year-old Rochester man, said he was walking west toward Farmington in front of Granite Ford when a black, older model pickup truck with a loud exhaust pulled up beside him, pointed a shotgun at him and demanded money.

"He gave over some money and the vehicle fled," Rochester Police Captain Jason Thomas said today.

Thomas said it was dark out and there were no witnesses.

A BOLO was put out on the vehicle, which was said to have been last seen heading toward Farmington.
