Police probe Lafayette Street brawl that left two hurt

ROCHESTER - Rochester Police are investigating an early morning streetfight on Lafayette Street that left at least two injured.

The incident unfolded around 12:50 a.m. on Saturday as callers reported seeing 10-12 young men pushing, shoving and fighting each other.

Rochester Police Capt. Todd Pinkham said four officers responded to the scene and interviewed several individuals in the area. He said the most seriously injured was a man who had a laceration to his face. He was said to have been treated and released. Another man suffered a small cut that didn't require treatment, Pinkham said.

Pinkham said officers still have several interviews to conduct before considering any arrests. He said it appears alcohol was involved in the incident.
