Police urge folks to keep cars locked after rash of breakins

ROCHESTER - Police are warning city residents to keep their vehicle doors locked after a spree of break-ins in the past four or five days.

According to Rochester Police Capt. Jason Thomas, all of the thefts occurred after dark, most of them in the Juniper Street neighborhood off Old Dover Road.

Police think either most or all of the thefts, which included mostly cash, change and electronics, are being committed by the same individual or group.

Other thefts occurred on Meadow, Tingley, Wildwood and Richardson streets.

"They take things the can carry, stuff they can pawn easily," Thomas said.

All of the thefts were from unlocked vehicles, Thomas added.
