FRANKLIN - Police say a Franklin man died in a propane explosion at his home New Year's Eve.

Responders were alerted to the explosion around 11:25 a.m., and found the man's body inside the residence, which was absent any fire or smoke.

An autopsy is scheduled today.

The victim's identification is pending the autopsy.

The cause of the explosion was misuse of a propane tank, according to safety officials.
