ROCHESTER - The public is invited to the Hanson Pines canoe and kayak launch on June 12 to welcome its installation for the spring and summer.

The launch is located at the end of Hillsdale Drive.

Kayaks and canoes can be dropped off as there is limited parking on site. There is additional parking at the James W. Foley Memorial Community Center behind Spaulding High School.

Light snacks and goody bags will be offered during the event. A fire rescue boat will be in the water. There will also be an arborist station where kids can learn about the surrounding area. The Riverwalk Committee will also be selling $5 calendars (cash only) as a fund-raiser for future projects.

The welcome event runs from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. and as a rain date set for June 19.
