DOVER - A new coalition effort focused on safe disposal of unused prescription drugs brings its message of awareness of teenage drug abuse to Strafford County next week when it hosts an educational forum at the Strafford County Courthouse parking lot.

The initiative will feature Strafford County police chiefs, along with government and elected officials who have been invited to the event, which will feature a "RALI Cares Code 3 Trailer," in which a teenage bedroom is set up to show parents possible warning signs of drug abuse.

The trailer is staffed by former vice cops and will inform parents about spotting the danger signals their children might exhibit. Persons under the age of 21 are not permitted to tour the trailer.

The Rx Abuse Leadership Initiative supports programs that prevent the misuse of prescription medicines so that more lives can be saved from the opioid crisis. They do this by bringing together community leaders and elected officials who are committed to finding effective solutions and sharing ideas that will make a difference across New Hampshire.

Governor Sununu joined community leaders for the launch of RALI New Hampshire in August.

Friday's event gets under way at noon in the courthouse parking lot at 259 County Farm Road in Dover.
