DOVER - A Rochester man with a long history of drug and theft violations will serve one to two years incarceration following his guilty plea on Friday to charges of drug possession, drug trafficking and a violation of probation.
Robert F. Jones, 58, of Corson Street, Rochester, was arrested by police on May 19 for possessing and trafficking drugs, which led to the violation of probation from an earlier conviction.
Jones, however, was given suspended sentences on the trafficking and possession charges, but given the one-to-two year sentence on the probation violation.
As a result he'll serve no time on the drug charges if he stays out of trouble for five years, which begins upon his release.
The suspended sentences are also dependent on Jones successfully completing the Strafford County Drug Court Program.
Jones, if convicted at trial on the drug charges, could've faced more than 20 years.
Jones was arrested on receiving stolen property charges in January of 2022 and dealing drugs out of a Rochester motel in 2016..
