SOUTH LEBANON - The Lebanon Rescue Department held its annual volunteer appreciation barbecue and Awards night on Thursday at the Flat Rock Bridge Family Resort in Lebanon.

About 60 rescue members and their family were in attendance, including 25 volunteers who received Presidential Service Awards.

All twenty-five members who were recognized received the following:

  • * The official President’s Volunteer Service Award pin
  • * A personalized certificate of achievement
  • * A congratulatory letter from the president of the United States

The awards are based on volunteer hours over a 12-month period and range from 150 to more than 500 hours of volunteer work.

“This was a really neat recognition for 25 of the volunteers who had mostly volunteered over 500 hours to the community. Seven members also received lifetime achievement awards for volunteering over 4,000 hours to our community,” Chief Samantha Cole said.

The annual awards barbecue and family fun night is paid for by the Lebanon Rescue Corporation. The event was sponsored by Flat Rock Bridge Family Resort and Go Chevy Trucks and the 4x4 Proving Grounds of Lebanon.
