ROCHESTER - Robert A. Hays, 87, formerly of Lyons St. died Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at the Rochester Manor.
Born November 10, 1929 in Beaver Fall, Penn., he was the son of the late Harvey and Flora Bell (Davis) Hays.
Bob moved to Rochester in the 1950s, a graduate of Lee High School in Harrisburg, Penn. Class of 1948. He was employed at Simplex 18 years and later worked at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard as a Security Guard. He loved candlepin bowling in Dover, N.H., with all the friends in the league, he enjoyed painting, building models, playing keyboard and the harmonica. He was known for his wonderful sense of humor.
Members of his family include his sons, Roland Hays and Kathryne of Rochester and Norman Hays and his wife Linda of Kiel, Wisc.; his daughter, Carolan Davis; his grandchildren, Brenda Fuller and husband Dan, and Stacey Eckert and her boyfriend, Brandy Woods; his great grandchildren, Chase and Ella Eckert and Isaac and River Fuller; and two stepchildren, Francis Gray and Carlyle Baker.
He is predeceased by his wife, Mabel Baker Hays, and his sister, Beverly Smith.
