ROCHESTER - Robert "Bob" A. Munroe, 61, died peacefully following a lengthy illness on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover. Bob was born on October 14, 1956 in Kittery, Maine; the son of Raymond L. Munroe, Jr. and Anita (Levesque) Munroe.
Bob grew up in Madbury and graduated in 1976 from Oyster River High School in Durham, where he excelled in basketball and soccer, making the All State and All New England soccer teams. After graduation, Bob worked in the construction business for Bob J's Construction in Madbury, and Watson Sand & Gravel Co. in Rochester, eventually starting his own business RAM General Contractor, Madbury, which he owned up until his illness.
He was predeceased by his father and leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 33 years, Shari (Newton) and two children, Alex Munroe of Farmington, and Sara Munroe (Kyle Lull) of Rochester; his mother, Anita Munroe; five siblings, Gary (Liza) Munroe of Birch Harbor, Maine, Steven Munroe (Lori Allen) of Madbury, Diane (Ivan) Fogarty of Port Orange, Fla., Alan (Gitty) Munroe of Madbury, and Thomas (Tammy) Munroe of Rochester, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
We would also like to thank the medical professionals who have taken care of Bob over the years, his PCA Makayla, and most recently, the doctors and nurses at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital and Hospice who took care of Bob in his final days.
