ROCHESTER - Robert W. Smith, 68, of Rochester, N.H. died on Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at his summer home in Lebanon, Maine.

He was born in Rochester on July 7, 1937, the son of the late Theodore and Alvina (Areil) Smith.

He leaves his lifelong companion of 35 years, Natalie Yancey, daughter, Karen Lyman of Phoenix, Ariz.; two stepchildren, Dale and Traci Glidden of Rochester; four grandchildren, Kirsten, Zackary and Karla of Phoenix, Ariz., and Gabrielle Glidden of Portsmouth, N.H.; also two sisters, Lillian Measley of Toledo, Ohio, and Stella Bernier and husband Leo of Milton, N.H..; and several nieces and nephews.

Robert worked at Davidson Rubber for 15 years before joining the Rochester Fire Department, where he spent 20 years and retired as Deputy Chief. He also owned and operated "Bob's Light Trucking". He was predeceased by his parents and sister, Annette Mountain.
