Rochester Arts Awards nominations extended into March

The Commission for Arts & Culture for the City of Rochester is pleased to announce that nominations for the annual Rochester Arts Awards have been extended from its original February deadline. These awards honor all forms of art and the individuals and organizations that support and promote artistic activity throughout Rochester.

The Arts Awards recognize candidates whose work:

  • Highlights Rochester's heritage and inspires pride in the community
  • Identifies, strengthens, and promotes the city's cultural and artistic assets
  • Encourages community involvement in the arts
  • Celebrates Rochester's unique combination of old-fashioned charm and forward-looking vision

Nominees must be Rochester residents or represent an art-related organization located in the city. Awards are based on accomplishments from the previous two years. Any member of the public may submit a nomination, including self-nominations. Individuals or organizations may receive an award no more than once every five years. Those not selected will automatically remain under consideration for the following year.

The commission will announce a new submission deadline in the coming weeks. Once a new cutoff date is established, it will be released. Nominations received after the final deadline will be reviewed for the following year's awards.
