Rochester bicyclist injured in collision with car

ROCHESTER - A Rochester bicyclist was injured Friday evening when he collided with a car turning into the Citizen’s Bank on Portland Street.

The accident occurred around 6:15, according to Rochester Police, who said a preliminary investigation indicated that a 2009 Chevy Traverse being driven by Thonya Keyes of Rochester was turning right into the parking lot of the bank when it collided with bicyclist Erick Whitney of Rochester

Whitney, 44, was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital with what are described as non-life threatening injuries.  

Keyes’ vehicle suffered minor damage to the passenger side door.

Police indicated no charges are expected.
