Rochester church will have free Narcan kits

If those addicted to heroin and other drugs are unable to make it to Saturday's Recovery Day at Dover's Wentworth Douglass Hospital, there will be another chance Dec. 10 at the First Church Congregational in Rochester.

On hand will be specialists who can help those who are addicted. There will also be support for family members.

Free Narcan kits and training on their administering will be available.

Narcan kits are seen as key to reviving those who have overdosed on heroin or fentanyl, a synthetic opioid 30 times more powerful than heroin and responsible for a large percentage of fatal opioid overdoses.

Next Thursday's event is from 7-8 p.m. The church is located at 63 S Main St, Rochester.

Meanwhile, Saturday's event in Dover runs all day.
