ROCHESTER - Quick Care Clinic physician Dr. Terry Bennett said on Sunday he's looking to sell his South Main Street practice and the building that houses it if he can find a doctor who would be the right fit for his patients.
Bennett, who has been a general practice doctor in Rochester for decades, said the cancer he was diagnosed with several years ago has returned and he needs an oxygen concentrator to keep from getting winded.
"If some 30-year-old guy or gal came in here and looked like a good fit I'd sell it in a heartbeat," Bennett said.
He said his practice currently comprises about 150-200 suboxone patients and maybe a 1,000 general practice patients.
He said on an average day he could have anywhere from 15 to 45 patients walk through the door, many of whom have no insurance.
"I turn 80 next month," he said. "I just don't know how much longer I can do this."
