ROCHESTER - Rochester Fire officials continue to investigate the origin of two recent fires that damaged or destroyed city homes.

Most recently, a fire at 149 Charles St. heavily damaged the residence despite being quickly brought under control after it was called in around 12:35 a.m. on Monday.

Two women inside the home at the time of the blaze got out safely.

The fire appeared to have begun on the porch, according to safety officials.

Meanwhile a Sept. 10 fire destroyed a Chapman Drive home.

That blaze broke out around 2:30 p.m. and quickly went to four alarms.

The fire was also thought to have started on its porch, fire officials said.

"Both fire (causes) are still undetermined and under investigation," Rochester Fire Assistant Chief Tim Wilder said on Thursday.
