Rochester man arrested in gunplay incident outside George and Ed's

ROCHESTER - A Rochester man has been charged with felony criminal threatening after police say he pointed a gun at a passing motorist near George and Ed's on Wednesday.

Officers first responded around 7:15 p.m. following a report of a gun being pointed at someone driving by the North Main Street convenience store.

Dispatch transcripts indicate the motorist was a female who had looked in the alleged gunman's direction after he called her name and saw the weapon pointed in her direction.

At least two officers searched the area where two subjects were later detained.

Arrested was Tyler W. Forest, 22, of 10 Chestnut Lane, Apt. A. Forest was charged with criminal threatening with a deadly weapon, a felony that carries a prison sentence of up to seven years.

Police said the two are known to each other.

Forest was released on personal recognizance with an arraignment scheduled for later this month.
