ROCHESTER - A Rochester man was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly selling unauthorized vehicle inspection stickers.
An investigation into the operation began after New Hampshire State Police were notified by Rochester police of a complaint involving the unauthorized sales.
Troopers learned from a tip that someone was displaying an "improperly obtained" state safety inspection sticker on their vehicle and also selling them without authorization, according to State Police.
Once troopers were able to locate the vehicle they noticed its current safety inspection was invalid in that the vehicle had not had a safety inspection in the state for more than two years.
Wesley Roberson, 45, of Rochester, was identified as the suspect alleged to have taken safety inspection stickers from his employer without their consent, then selling them illegally.
Roberson surrendered Wednesday at the Rochester Police Department. He was released on personal recognizance with an arraignment date in Rochester District Court next month.
