Rochester man dies in truck rollover on the Spaulding

Staff reports 1:00 p.m.

ROCHESTER - A 28-year-old Rochester man is dead after police say he lost control of his vehicle as he headed northbound on the Spaulding Exit 12 onramp, struck the guardrail on the left side of the highway and rolled over.

The tragic crash occurred a little before 10:38 p.m. when New Hampshire State Troopers got the call for a single motor vehicle crash.

Corey Baker, who was driving a 2005 Ford F-150 pickup truck, died at the scene, officials say.

Baker was not wearing a seat belt, and speed and impairment appear to be contributing factors in the crash, safety officials said.

All aspects of the crash, however, are still being investigated.

No other vehicles were involved.

Traffic was diverted off of Exit 12 for a short period of time until troopers were able to open the left travel lane. The Exit 12 northbound onramp and the right travel lane of the Spaulding Turnpike were closed for approximately two and a half hours as the investigation continued.

Assisting the New Hampshire State Police at the scene were the Rochester Police Department, the Rochester Fire Department, and the New Hampshire State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit.

This accident remains under investigation by Trooper Michelle Montville. Anyone with information pertaining to this accident is asked to contact Trooper Montville, NH State Police-Troop A at (603) 223-8490.
