Rochester man gets 6 1/2  years for fentanyl trafficking

CONCORD, N.H. - A Rochester man has been sentenced to six and a half years in prison on drug trafficking charges.

Anthony Elton Cook, 26, pleaded guilty to possession of fentanyl with intent to distribute and unlawful possession of a firearm.

According to court documents, testimony and statements by Cook, a Rochester police patrol officer pulled Cook over for a suspected motor vehicle violation on July 12, 2015.

Found in Cook's car and in his possession were a sizeable quantity of fentanyl, a handgun, ammunition and $1,900 in cash.

Cook previously had been convicted of a felony and therefore was prohibited from firearm possession.

Following release Cook will be on probation for another five years.

Cook also forfeited any interest in the $1,900 cash found in his possession.
