Rochester man walks away from transitional housing unit

MANCHESTER, N.H. - A Rochester man serving time for theft failed to return to his transitional housing unit Friday after officials say he demanded his paycheck from his work release employer and ran off.

Domenic Thomas Beraldi, 23, formerly of Rochester, left the Calumet Transitional Housing Unit Friday afternoon around 3:15 p.m. and was placed on walkaway status around 4 p.m.

Beraldi is described as about 5 feet 8 inches tall, 150 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He has tattoos on his chest and upper right arm.

Beraldi is serving a 1 to 3 year sentence, with 125 days of time served credited to his minimum, from Strafford County Superior Court. He began serving this sentence on Aug. 18 was eligible for parole on April 14. His maximum release date is April 14, 2019. He is also serving a four year concurrent sentence of Probation from Strafford County Superior Court for Conduct After an Accident. His probation expires August 30, 2019.

The New Hampshire Department of Corrections Investigations Bureau and the New Hampshire State Police are investigating. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call the New Hampshire State Police or their local law enforcement agency.

A walkaway is considered an Escape from a correctional facility, which is a Class B Felony punishable by up to 3½-7 years in prison.
