Staff reports 8:56 a.m.

EAST ROCHESTER - A Rochester man was injured and subsequently charged with DWI Tuesday after his Yamaha motorcycle crashed in a parking area behind Shoreyville Plaza in East Rochester.

Police say they got the call a little before 7:30 p.m. for a male motorcycle operator who had crashed his bike.

When Police arrived they found no accident on the front side of the plaza, but soon found a man near a 2004 Yamaha YZF 600 behind the plaza's convenience store, Rochester Police Capt. Gary Boudreau said on Wednesday.

An officer stated in police reports that the rider smelled of alcohol and failed a field sobriety test.

He was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital with what were described as minor, nonlife-threatening injuries.

Subsequently Christopher McNulty, 36, of 22 Fairway Ave, was charged with DWI. The motorcycle, which sustained some scratches but no major damage, was towed from the scene.

The cause of the crash was undetermined.
