Rochester motorist arrested in Chesley Hill Rd. DWI crash

ROCHESTER - A Rochester motorist was arrested for drunken driving after they crashed their car in a utility pole last night on Chesley Hill Road.

Police responded around 10 p.m. to the area of 197 Chesley Hill Road where they found that a 2016 Chevrolet Cruz driven by Dylan Cox, 24 of Gonic, had been traveling west when it drove off the road striking and snapping the pole in two.

Cox was arrested for DWI at Frisbie Memorial Hospital after being treated there for what were described as minor injuries.

The Chevrolet sustained heavy damage and was towed from the scene.

The roadway was shut down for a period of time while MetroCast attended to the downed wires.
