Rochester Police investigating fight at American Legion

Staff reports 2:02 p.m.

ROCHESTER - Rochester Police are currently investigating whether charges might be brought in connection with a fight that occurred at the American Legion on Wednesday night.

The incident was called into police a little before 11 p.m., after the altercation between two male members that had begun inside moved outside, according to Rochester Police Capt. Jason Thomas.

There was some fisticuffs between two males inside and once they were outside a female was also involved in some type of altercation as well, Thomas noted on Thursday.

Thomas said at one point one of the Legion members involved in the original dispute fired a round from a firearm into the ground outside.

Thomas said police are investigating whether he will be charged with reckless conduct.

The female involved in the scuffle outside the Eastern Avenue club was taken to Frisbie Memorial Hospital for treatment of a possible head injury, said Thomas.

Thomas said once more interviews are conducted police will determine what, if any, charges may be brought forward.
