ROCHESTER - Two Rochester transients were arrested at a Rochester hotel on Thursday after a caller notified police dispatch that they thought one of them was dealing drugs.

When police responded to the Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites on Farmington Road around 4:15 a.m. both men tried to escape, but were quickly corralled and taken into custody, Rochester Police Capt. Todd Pinkham said on Friday.

Robert F. O'Neill, 49, was charged with possession of heroin/crack (more than a gram), resisting arrest or detention and a capias out of Strafford County Superior Court on another drug possession charge.

Michael Lee Rand, 34, was arrested on a capias out of Strafford County Superior Court on theft after two similar priors.

O'Neill is currently being held at Strafford County Jail on a no bail order, corrections personnel said today, while Rand has been released.
