CONCORD - Rochester active COVID cases spiked on Monday likely due to increased testing of Spaulding students in the wake of one active case reported at the school last week.

Other local numbers showed six in Dover, 1-4 in Somersworth, Farmington and Barrington, likely due to postive cases found at the Barrington Elementary School last week; and none in Milton and Strafford.

The largest number of cases identified in the region occurred among UNH students, where as of today, there are 30 active cases, 78 recovered cases along with two oubreaks, one at a frat house and one at a dormitory hall.

Still the good news is that the positivity rate among cases the past two weeks is just .8 percent.

Meanwhile, DHHS announced seven new positive test results for COVID-19, including one under 18 and one from Strafford County.

One new hospitalized case was identified for a total of 11. No deaths were reported.
