Rochester woman cited in downtown pedestrian ax

ROCHESTER - A Rochester woman was injured on Saturday night when he was struck by a car on Signal Street.

Police were called to the scene around 8:40 p.m. and after a brief investigation learned that a 2006 Chevy Malibu being driven north on Signal Street by Tyler Fernald, 20, of Rochester, had hit a pedestrian.

Nichole Sullivan, 36, of Rochester, who police say was crossing the street in a crosswalk, was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital with what were described as nonlife-threatening injuries.

Fernald was issued a summons for failure to yield to pedestrians in a crosswalk.
