DOVER - A Rochester woman faces up to seven years in state prison after her indictment in a domestic violence strangulation case from December.
Dori Canton, 55, of 14 Yellowstone Lane, was formally charged by a Strafford County grand jury in the assault that occurred in Rochester on Dec. 29 when she is alleged to have applied pressure to the victim's neck so that they experienced "impeded breathing and/or impeded blood circulation" while the two were what is defined as "household members."
The charge is a Class B felony, punishable by three and a half to seven years in state prison.
The indictments were handed down on Feb. 15 and released on Wednesday.
An indictment is not an indication of guilt, only that enough evidence has been presented to a grand jury to warrant a trial.
