ROCHESTER - Roland L. Dubois, 93, passed away Monday, October 20, 2014.
Roland was born in Rochester, on October 6, 1921, the only son of John and Leda (Sylvain) Dubois and lived his entire life in Rochester. He was a lifelong communicant of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church.

He was a proud WWII veteran. He served on the USS Columbia in the Pacific during World War II from 1942 to 1945. He worked in area shoe shops while raising his family and later retired from Simplex Wire and Cable in 1986.

Roland loved life and loved people. He enjoyed camping at Gunstock with his late wife for seventeen years and was always so happy to share those special times with family. He was well-known for his wonderful pork pies and delicious homemade spaghetti sauce, which he shared with many people.

Roland was an avid boxing fan all of his life. He loved playing his harmonica and always had it in his pocket or close by, so he played a "little tune" when he felt like it. He could always be found sitting outside on his front lawn on every nice sunny day. He loved being outside for hours at a time. Roland was predeceased in 2003 by his wife of 55 years Pauline (Poisson) Dubois to whom he was a loving and devoted husband.

He leaves behind one daughter, Sheila Allard and her husband Paul of Farmington, and two sons, James Dubois and Bruce Dubois, both of Rochester, five grandchildren, Corey Dubois, Jim Dubois and Tanya Skinner, BJ Dubois and Jody Smith as well as ten great-grandchildren.
