ROCHESTER - Roland Joseph Tanguay, 83, of Rochester, passed away after a lengthy illness on Monday May 18, 2026. Born March 19,1943. He was the son of the late Richard and Marie-Jeanne (Raymond) Tanguay.

Roland was married to his loving wife, Joyce Tibbetts, for 55 years.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Joyce; His son Roger (Tina) MacGoldrick of Utah; daughters Kimberly (Thom) Wenzlau of Somersworth, Vicki Bright, and Ginny Grant both of Rochester. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Brittaney MacGoldrick, Alexa (Ty) Lewis, Keegan (Bailey) MacGoldrick. Jeremy & Brian Roberts, and Christopher (Erin) Bright; as well as his beloved great-grandchildren: Tatum & Titus MacGoldrick, Beckham & Kolter Lewis, Kru & Bryar MacGoldrick.

Roland is also survived by his siblings: Raymond (Francine) Tanguay, Paul Tanguay, Leo (Maryann) Tanguay, Ann (Martin) Jones, Claire (Jerry) Vermette. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents Roland was predeceased by his sister Laurette St.Laurent; and his sister- & Brother-in-law Judy & Tom Diamant.

Roland worked for Simplex Wire and Cable Company and John Mckenna Construction. He was a former member of The Rochester Elks Lodge #1393.

In his younger days, he enjoyed working on cars, boating & water skiing, scuba diving and cross word puzzles. He especially loved camping with his family at Shawtown, going on cruises, and playing cards with family. He was also a devoted Red Sox fan.

A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.
