ROCHESTER - Cops for Kids with Cancer, a nonprofit organization, partnered with the Rochester Police Department recently to provide a donation to a local couple whose three-year-old daughter was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).

Rochester residents Julie and Michael Plaistead said that their daughter, Skye, was diagnosed with ALL in April, and they have been in and out of hospitals and to many doctors' appointments ever since.

Earlier this week Skye and her five-year-old sister visited the Rochester Police Department with their parents to be presented with a donation from Cops For Kids With Cancer. The check is meant to help defray the costs the family has incurred during Skye's ongoing battle with ALL.

Miller Thomas from Cops for Kids with Cancer, along with members of the Rochester Police Department, presented the Plaistead family with a donation check from Cops For Kids With Cancer, as well as a variety of gifts for Skye, including a special teddy bear she has already fallen in love with.

Cops for Kids with Cancer is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization focused on raising funds to provide assistance to families of children fighting cancer, to improve their quality of life.
