ROCHESTER - Ruth-ann Elizabeth Walsh, 76, on Saturday, January 23, 2016, died at her home surrounded by her loving family and into the loving arms of her late husband Arthur who began his heavenly journey in March of 2015.
Born March 13, 1939, in Arlington Mass., she was the daughter of Francis and Ruth (Grahm) Carter.
Ruth has lived in Rochester for the past 54 years after moving from Cambridge Mass. She was a graduate of Mount Auburn where she earned a degree in nursing. While living in New Hampshire she worked as an RN at Frisbie Memorial Hospital, Langdon Place of Dover and Exeter, Lilac City Pediatrics and the Rochester Manor, she retired in 2012. She was a parishioner of St Mary's Church where she played a very active role on the parish council, Catholic women's community for the Diocese of Manchester; she served on the Rochester School Board and was a member of the Marion Society, Friends of the Rochester Library, RCIA Team and Rochester Book Club.
Members of her family include her sons; Patrick Walsh and his wife Judith of Derry and Shaun Walsh and his wife Joann of Hudson Maine, a daughter, Kellie Daigneault and her husband David of Rochester, a brother, Paul Carter and wife Linda of Arlington Mass., a grand daughter Kelbre Roberts of Rochester, and an aunt Hazel Proto Wilmington Mass.
She is predeceased by her husband Arthur Francis Bradley Walsh in 2015 and a son, Francis Joseph Walsh in 1962.
