LEBANON - The 2017-18 SAD 60 budget passed easily on Tuesday, however the real story was the dismal voting totals, with about 4 percent of voters in Lebanon turning out at the polls.

The overall school budget vote comprising polling in all three district towns was 420-198.

In Lebanon, some 200 voters turned out, OK'ing the budget, 126-71.

The $50 million state infrastructure bond was a little closer, passing however, 109-91, in Lebanon.

Statewide results were still not fully in today, but larger cities' already-reported approval along with random sampling of smaller towns shows the bond being easily passed.

Voter turnout among some surveyed communities showed voting rates as little as less than 1 percent, according to the Portland Press Herald.
