Sanford man gets 10 years in child porn case

A Sanford man who pleaded guilty in May to transporting child pornography was sentenced Thursday in U.S. District Court to serve 10 years in prison.

Richard M. Moulton Jr., 31, will also have to adhere to 10 years of supervised release under the sentence imposed by Judge Nancy Torresen, according to U.S. Attorney Thomas E. Delahanty II.

Moulton is alleged to have sent an email to an undercover account of a federal agent in February and attached four video files to the email depicting minors engaged in explicit sexual activity. In the email, Moulton asked, "Can u send 4 back also," court records reveal.

Moulton frequently used his email account to solicit child pornography from others and to send child pornography images, according to testimony.

The investigation was conducted by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security division and the Sanford Police Department.
