ROCHESTER - Sara L. Gowen, 80, died Sunday, Aug. 28, 2018 after a brief illness.
Born May 30, 1938 in Newmarket she is the daughter of the late Louis and Mary (Hartshorn) Record.
Sara has lived in Rochester since 1963. She was a homemaker who loved and was very proud of her family and especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing golf having been a past member of the Nippo Lake Golf Club in Barrington, she also enjoyed playing BINGO.
Members of her family include her husband of 61 years, Paul Gowen of Rochester; her son, Thomas Gowen and his wife Sheila of Miramar, Fla.; her daughters, Catherine Guilmette and her husband William, Cynthia Laplume and her husband Dana and Christine Wilkins and her husband Dennis all of Rochester; a sister, Beverly Burrows of Durham; 11 grandchildren, Matt, Andrea, Crystal, Josh, Doug, Justin, Jake, Whitley, Shayla, Corey, Chris; and two great grandchildren, Maddyn and Madilyn; many nieces and nephews and brother and sister in-laws.
She is predeceased by her brothers, Jackie, Ronnie and James Record and a sister, Linda McGowen.
