ROCHESTER - A second man has been arrested in the baseball bat beating of a man last month in Rochester. Windell Conley, 33, of 1 Abbey Lane, Dover, was arrested on Thursday. The other suspect, Gabriel Valentin, 37, of 4 Townsend Lane, Rochester, turned himself in on Aug. 25. They are both charged with felony first-degree assault and criminal restraint. The incident began around 3:20 p.m. on Aug. 18 when police responded to the area of 4 Townsend Lane for a report of a 911 hang up call. Prior to the caller hanging up they stated a male was "going crazy with a gun" and he was covered in blood. The male had injuries to his body consistent with his statements made to responding officers, who searched for the suspects, including a K9 team.
The victim was rushed to Frisbie Memorial Hospital with what were describes as nonlife-threatening injuries. Conley is being held on $50,000 bail pending an arraignment today, while Valentin's bail has been set at $25,000.
