ROCHESTER - Rochester Police are seeking the public's help in an alleged theft of found money that occurred last month at the North Main Street Hannaford.

Police say a female using the self-checkout lane on April 29 withdrew $150 cash and put the money in her purse. While then trying to purchase other items a couple of minutes later, she realized she had left her purse at the self-checkout. When she got back to check her purse, the $150 was gone.

The male, meanwhile, was seen walking up to the self-checkout directly after the victim and is on video reaching into the purse and removing the money. Another female used the same counter after the suspect and turned the purse over to the manager while never reaching into it or opening it, police say.
