ROCHESTER - Rochester Police are on the scene of a serious collision on Washington Street involving a car and a box truck.

Police responded about an hour ago to the accident in front of the Rochester Crossing plaza.

The outbound lane is currently closed from the Spaulding Turnpike overpass to the plaza, while the inbound lane remains open.

Safety officials are urging that motorists seek alternative routes while the accident reconstruction team assists in the investigation.

Details on the accident are scant. No injuries have been released by police as of this posting.
