ROCHESTER - A fast-moving fire destroyed one building at the Hi-Vu Motor Inn Tuesday afternoon.

Rochester Fire Marshal Tim Wilder said crews responded to the Rochester Hill Road landmark around 4 p.m. to find heavy smoke on both floors of the building.

Several minor injuries were reported among residents, but none were serious enough to require treatment, officials said.

No official cause was released but several residents reported it started in a kitchen.

The motel has long been home to guests who stay for extended periods of time.

The Red Cross said they were assisting seven people displaced by the fire.
