Today's snowfall is turning road surfaces into a slushy, ice-encrusted mess for motorists with several fender benders and slideoffs reported throughout the Northern Seacoast.

In Milton a car ran off the road on White Mountain Highway next to the Ray's Marina building. Milton Police reported no injuries in the slideoff.

Meanwhile, several cars were reported off the road in Lebanon, Maine, on Route 202 and several secondary roads there.

State Police Trooper Jeremy Forbes of Troop A in Alfred said the roads are not terrible if people just slow down a bit. He said none of the accidents had been serious, mostly just slideoffs.

As of 1 p.m. several inches were already on the ground with the snowfall not expected to end till around at least 3 p.m. The final accumulation is expected to be anywhere from 3-6 inches, according to Accuweather.

Police are urging the public to stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary.

Rochester Police reported they'd had just two minor accidents in today's snow and four motorist assists, mostly for cars off the road with no damage.
