LEBANON - A storm system that lingered longer than forecasters had predicted wreaked havoc on area roads throughout Friday and overnight, causing at least two accidents in Lebanon that both damaged utility poles.

The first came around 2 p.m. in the area of 112 Champion St. when a vehicle slid off the road and split a utility pole. Power was shut down for a couple of hours while CMP crews made repairs.

No injuries were reported.

Then around midnight a car crashed into a utility pole on Center Road, but when rescue crews responded the car was found locked and the occupants gone.

Police are investigating the Center Road crash.
