ROCHESTER - Several students from Spaulding High School worked with members of the Rochester Senior Activity Center earlier this month to complete a mural at the James W. Foley Memorial Community Center.
Sponsored by the Rochester Museum of Fine Arts (RMFA), the mural was painted inside the Senior Activity Center. The design features a lively, vector-style botanical pattern created as part of a collaboration between Senior Services Coordinator Michelle Breslin and the RMFA.
"It was truly special to bring together seniors and students to create a beautiful mural that will be enjoyed by our community every day," said Breslin. "Each brushstroke represents connection, creativity, pride, and our members will always be able to look at it knowing they helped shape and brighten their center. We are incredibly grateful to both groups for their collaboration, and to Matt Wyatt from the RMFA for his guidance and continued support in keeping our community spaces vibrant."

The project is another installment in the RMFA's efforts to add vibrancy to public buildings and grounds. Past projects include a sculpture at the corner of Columbus Avenue and Wakefield Street, the Katydid sculpture at the Rochester Recreation Department, three sculptures along Columbus Avenue, a mural on the backside of the Waypoint Teen Drop-In Center, and many more.
