Speed blamed in crash that killed South Berwick woman
Staff reports 12:08 p.m. SPRINGVALE, Maine - Sanford Police are reporting today that a South Berwick woman died when the pickup truck she was driving flipped onto its side on Oak Street on Sunday. The accident occurred around 7:45 p.m. when the Chevrolet 1500 was headed east on Oak Street near the intersection of Hanson Ride Road, left the roadway, flipped over and struck a tree. The operator, 29-year-old Aurora Smith, died at the scene, police said. Investigators determined that speed was a contributing factor. The accident remains under investigation.
