Speed blamed in Rochester motorcycle crash

ROCHESTER - Speed is being blamed in a motorcycle accident that left a Deerfield man injured Thursday.

Police say Devin Dellaire, 23 was entering the Spaulding Turnpike onramp on Milton Road around 4:10 p.m. when he lost control of the 2001 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, left the roadway and struck a tree.

Dellaire was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital with what were described as serious but nonlife threatening injuries. He was not wearing a helmet.

Dellaire admitted to the investigating officer that he had entered the ramp too fast and lost control. He was subsequently issued a summons for operating without a valid motorcycle license or endorsement.

The Rochester Police Department took the opportunity to remind riders they should all take a riding course and the helmets do help to prevent injuries.
