Speed said factor in fatal motorcycle crash in Limerick

LIMERICK, Maine - A Maine man died early today in a motorcycle crash in Limerick.

York Count Sheriffs deputies responded to the area of New Dam Road not far from the Waterboro line around 1 a.m. where a preliminary investigation showed that Kirk Fogarty, 44, of Waterboro was riding a 2019 Suzuki GSX-R7 motorcycle that failed to navigate a curve.

The bike went off the left side of the road where it struck a utility pole.

Waterboro EMS pronounced Fogarty dead at the scene.

Speed appears to be a factor, according to a press release from the York County Sheriff's Office.
