State COVID cases up by 57 on Sunday as hope that apex is near continues

CONCORD - The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services confirmed 57 new positive test results for COVID-19 on Sunday, bringing the state total to 985

All are adults with 65 percent female and 35 percent male. The new cases reside in Rockingham (31), Hillsborough County other than Manchester and Nashua (9), Grafton (2), Merrimack (2), Strafford (2) counties, Belknap (1), and Cheshire (1), and in the cities of Manchester (6) and Nashua (2).

Six new COVID-19-related hospitalizations were reported; thus far, 152 (15%) of the 985 positive cases have been hospitalized.

Locally, according to DHHS officials, Dover has recorded 10-19 cases, while Rochester, Somersworth and Barrington show 5-9 and Farmington and Milton have 1-4 cases.

It should be noted that Rochester's COVID-19 public information officer said over the weekend the city had learned of just two coronavirus cases, not the 5-9 listed by state DHHS officials.

No new deaths were reported on Sunday.

Meanwhile, in Maine, 633 cases have been confirmed, with 19 succumbing to the disease. York case number went up to 144, with one new case being added on Sunday.
