MILTON - Three-term state representative Robbie Parsons died Monday after a long battle with kidney cancer.

Parsons, 70, won his most recent election while fighting the disease, easily winning his last ticket to Concord in November.

Parsons also had served on the Milton Planning Board and the Milton Economic Development Committee.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with Robbie's family during this dark time," said a press release today from the Strafford County Republican Committee. "He faced cancer very similar to how he faced life... head on, full of strength and conviction of character."

New Hampshire Gov. Maggie Hassan said in a statement, "Through three terms in the New Hampshire House and his work in the community with organizations like Greater Seacoast United Way, Rep. Parsons has helped build on New Hampshire's rich tradition of civic engagement. Tom (Hassan's husband) and I are saddened to hear of his passing, and we send our thoughts and prayers to his family and loved ones."
