ROCHESTER - The public is invited to help Waste Management stock the Isinglass River with hundreds of trout today at 11 a.m. .

The effort is in conjunction with Three Rivers Stocking Association.

The effort will included the stocking of the Isinglass with more than 200 rainbow trout.

A WM press release urges volunteers to come down the trails to the river, grab a bucket or two of fish, and help stock the Isinglass.

"Enjoy the natural beauty of the hiking trails and the fall foliage and learn about the river and its inhabitants," a statement from WM on Saturday said.

The event won't end till all the fish are released.

The Gonic Trails are located on Rochester Neck Road.

There are three trails that travel from Rochester Neck Road to the river: the Isinglass Trail, Lock's Loop and Watson's Way.

According to the city of Rochester website, Locke's Loop and Watson's Way are moderate 1 to 1.5 mile loops through the forest management area. The Isinglass Trail is a longer (2+ miles one way) hike along the Isinglass River and connects the main forest area to the Isinglass River Park picnic area and canoe launch. Users may access the Isinglass River Trail from either the main Gonic Trails trailhead parking lot or the Isinglass River Park parking area around 1.1 miles southeast of the main trailhead on Rochester Neck Road.
