CONCORD - Today, Governor Chris Sununu brought before the Executive Council a pardon petition for Joanna the Turkey, of Birch Rise Farm in Sanbornton.

Within an eloquent pardon petition submitted by Joanna the Turkey it is also learned she is a reformed jailbird among other things.

She lists her residence as at Birch Rise Farms and her marital status as "soon to be married!"

Regarding her education, she notes she was "farm schooled."

And as per all pardon requests, she admits to misdemeanors and felonies she may have committed, adding, "I could have stolen feed from my fellow turkeys and also flown the coop a few times."

Appearing to have transformed to quite the law abiding fowl, she says if pardoned she will work to provide entertainment and educational opportunities with Brook the Turkey to the students at Crotched Mt. School.

Following remarks from Governor Chris Sununu and Attorney General Gordon MacDonald, the Executive Council unanimously approved the pardon.
