Suspect struck, killed on I-93 while trying to elude police following brief pursuit

MANCHESTER - A Manchester man who ran onto Interstate 93 to elude police was struck and killed by a passing vehicle.

The incident unfolded around 11:45 p.m. on Wednesday when a State Trooper attempted to stop a 2026 Toyota Camry traveling at a high rate of speed on I-93 North in Manchester. The driver of the Toyota did not stop and led the Trooper on a brief pursuit. The pursuit was discontinued as the Toyota exited the interstate at Exit 6.

Soon after, the Toyota was seen on the Hanover Street Connector, where it crashed. As the Trooper approached the crash scene, the driver and sole occupant ran from the crashed vehicle toward I-93. The suspect then climbed the embankment to the interstate and entered the northbound lanes. As the suspect attempted to cross the interstate, he was struck by a Hyundai Elantra.

The driver of the Hyundai, identified as Jakob Cadorette, of Epsom, pulled over immediately and called 911. First responders arrived and determined the suspect who fled from the crash was deceased at the scene.

Cadorette was not injured and is fully cooperating with the investigation. The name of the deceased suspect is being withheld pending the ongoing investigation.

Due to the severity of the crash, the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction (C.A.R.) Unit responded to the scene and assumed lead of the investigation.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or who has information that may assist the investigation is asked to contact Trooper Eric Torrens at Eric.M.Torrens@dos.nh.gov.
